Zana non è soltanto una vigna. E’ un progetto nato con ricerca, cura e attenzione. E’ una Menzione Geografica Aggiuntiva, anche definito CRU, del Nizza DOCG.
La lunga tradizione dei vini Marenco, radicata da sempre negli aromatici dolci, ha trovato espressione anche nell’eccellenza della Barbera, dagli anni ‘70 del secolo scorso.
Una tradizione sempre al passo coi tempi, tanto che dopo la nascita nel 2014 della denominazione NIZZA DOCG, formatasi dalla sottozona della denominazione Barbera d’Asti, ha portato la Marenco a iniziare un nuovo percorso. Percorso che ha trovato nel 2019 la prima scintilla, nell’individuazione di una piccola vigna a Castel Boglione (AT), a ridosso di Nizza Monferrato, facente parte del cru Zana.
Una delle vigne più alte della zona, oltre i 400 mlm, con esposizione a sud, un terreno prettamente sabbioso e viti di circa 30 anni. Tutti ingredienti fondamentali per la finezza, l’eleganza e la potenza espressiva che questo vino libera nel bicchiere.
Da questa vigna, molto ripida e quindi coltivata esclusivamente a mano, ricaviamo il nostro Nizza Riserva Zana, che anno dopo anno ci regala belle e piacevoli emozioni.
Per Marenco la fatica viene ripagata con la qualità e la soddisfazione per una tradizione che è passione, serietà e innovazione.

The long tradition of Marenco wines, rooted in sweet aromatics, has also found expression in the excellence of Barbera, especially starting from the 1970s. A tradition that has always kept pace with the times, so much so that after the creation of the NIZZA DOCG appellation in 2014, formed from a subzone of the Barbera d’Asti appellation, Marenco embarked on a new journey.
This journey found its first spark in 2019, with the identification of a small vineyard in Castel Boglione (AT), near Nizza Monferrato, part of the cru Zana. One of the highest vineyards in the area, at over 400 meters above sea level, with a southern exposure, predominantly sandy soil, and vines approximately 30 years old.
All essential ingredients for the finesse, elegance, and expressive power that this Barbera unleashes in the glass.
From this vineyard we produce our Nizza Riserva Zana, which year after year brings us hard work but above all satisfaction.
